Peter Quinter is the Chair of the Customs and International Trade Department.   He is Board Certified as an expert in International Law by the Florida Bar. His expertise includes  providing advice and representation to persons and companies involved in the international supply chain,  such as  importers, exporters, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.  He strategically counsels companies to prevent or resolve difficulties with United States Government law enforcement and regulatory agencies, especially the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). 

A former U.S. Customs attorney with 16+ years in private practice,  he has experience helping importers and exporters get seized merchandise released from U.S. Customs, reducing penalties issued by U.S. Customs' Fines, Penalties, and Forfeitures Office, providing export compliance advice to companies which may include submitting disclosures to or negotiating settlements for export violations with the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and litigating customs broker licensing or tariff classification cases in the United States Court of International Trade.   [Peter Quinter's full bio]

 

Jennifer Diaz Jennifer Diaz is a Senior Attorney in the Customs and International Trade Department. Her practice focuses on assisting clients with issues relating to the import and export of goods to and from the United States. She has experience with regulatory issues involving Federal agencies including the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Alcohol and Tobacco Trade and Tax Bureau (TTB) as well as other Federal agencies.  [Jennifer Diaz's full bio]

 

 

 

Melissa Groisman. Melissa Groisman is a multilingual South Florida native practicing in the Customs and International Trade Department. She represents both domestic and multinational corporations in matters arising before U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as well as numerous other Federal agencies. Experienced with the laws and regulations affecting imported merchandise, Ms. Groisman devotes her practice to structuring international trade transactions in order to legally minimize duty payments. Such work concerns the valuation, tariff classification and country of origin of imported merchandise, and often involves the preparation of binding ruling requests, protests, and other communication with U.S. Customs. She provides legal counsel in the drafting of voluntary disclosures and the negotiation and resolution of penalties, liquidated damages, and other enforcement actions taken by U.S. Customs.  [Melissa Groisman's full bio]
